Paint a landscape in oils or acrylics. Learn color mixing for the landscape and brush techniques while learning about good composition and how to create lighting and atmosphere. Create depth with color, use different brushes and brush strokes to create textures. Some reference material available or bring your own high quality photo. Tuesdays 3pm – 5pm. May 22 – June 26, 2018. 6 weeks. $85.00 per person.
Materials: 11×15 or 12×16 canvas, any brushes or paints you have but include a pointed round sable/synthetic, flat or angled shader, filbert, and flat and round bristle brushes (synthetic if working in acrylics). Paints – burnt sienna, burnt umber, yellow ochre or yellow oxide, cerulean or manganese blue, french ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, Hookers or sap green, titanium white. Oils need odorless mineral spirits and a leak proof jar (canning jars work). Rags or paper towels and a bag to take them home in.
